Standards Reference

Test standards we work to

The standards below cover our office and ergonomic seating product lines. Project-specific test reports — including standards not listed here — are arranged on request based on the destination market and the buyer's compliance program.

BIFMA X5.1

General-Purpose Office Chair Test Standard (US)

Applies to:
Office task chairs, executive chairs, ergonomic seating

Covers stability, durability, strength, and fatigue testing for commercial-grade office seating sold into the North American market.

EN 1335 (Parts 1, 2, 3)

Office Work Chair — European Standard

Applies to:
Office chairs intended for the European Union market

Part 1 covers dimensions; Part 2 covers safety requirements; Part 3 covers test methods. Commonly required for EU public-procurement tenders.

SGS Test Reports

Third-party material and physical testing

Applies to:
Foam, fabric, leather, plastic, and metal components

SGS reports cover material composition, physical performance, and chemical testing as required by the destination market and the buyer's compliance program.

Quality Process

Compliance from material to shipment

Quality control runs through every stage of production — from incoming material checks at receiving, through in-process inspection at each production station, to final inspection before packing and shipment.

Lab testing is performed by accredited third-party laboratories. Buyer-arranged third-party inspections are accommodated for any shipment. Inspection scope and acceptable quality levels are confirmed on a per-project basis at the order stage.

FAQ

Compliance questions, answered

Which standards do CXstyle products test against?
Our office and ergonomic seating is tested against BIFMA X5.1 (US) and EN 1335 Parts 1-3 (EU). Materials are tested by SGS. Project-specific test reports — including additional standards required for a particular destination market — are arranged on a per-project basis. Contact us with your destination market and product specification for project-specific documentation.
Are test reports issued by CXstyle or by a third party?
All test reports are issued by accredited third-party laboratories. CXstyle coordinates the testing process and supplies the resulting reports to the buyer. The exact laboratory and report scope are confirmed at the project stage.
Can a test report be re-issued under our company name?
For OEM private-label programs we coordinate with the testing laboratory so the report can be issued in the buyer's brand name. This is handled on a per-project basis — contact us to discuss your buyer-side compliance requirements.
Do you offer additional certifications for specific markets?
Additional certifications and compliance documentation can be arranged on request, depending on the destination market, product type, and buyer requirements. Lead time and cost vary by standard. Contact us to confirm what applies to your project.
